Welcome to Bath in Colour

BATH IN COLOUR

Vaults Gallery, Bath

Nov 2008

Bath in Colour represents my first solo exhibition since returning  to live in the city, after a ten year absence. Bath is often depicted in muted tones, reflecting the cities elegance and refinement. I wanted to emphasis Bath's vibrant personality, rather than dwelling on the crescents, sandstone and grand features.

Growing up here I have always felt that Bath has a  certain quirk in its nature. The recent success of King Bladud's Pigs (where local artists were given larger than life size resin pigs to decorate then place around the city) reflects this quirk. A sense playfulness in the way people that live here regard the city.

The Vaults Gallery, situated in the Theatre Royal Bath, proved a superb venue to hold Bath in Colour. I would like to thank exhibition coordinator Chris Bell, who did an excellent job looking after the show.
